Anthea Turner is being lined up for Dancing On Ice, according to reports.

The former Blue Peter and GMTV presenter, 52, who recently hit the headlines over marriage troubles, has already tried out for the ITV1 show, The Sun reported.

A source said: "Anthea is still a household name and someone who ITV chiefs are convinced that their viewers will want to see on the ice rink.

"She has managed to keep herself in good nick over the years and is very fit for someone who is 52.

"Also, Anthea has not been on the television for years so is aching to get back into the limelight."

Anthea has reportedly been offered a £50,000 deal to compete in the eighth series, which starts next January.

In July, Anthea said she was "heartbroken and devastated" amid reports that her marriage to Grant Bovey was in crisis.

The couple have been spending time apart after reports Grant had an affair while she was filming in Canada.

The one-time TV golden girl had to sell her £10 million estate Barbins Grange in 2009 and a year later Grant was declared bankrupt after the collapse of his property company Imagine Homes.
