Selena Gomez will star in a feature length version of her wizarding TV role
Selena Gomez is set to star in a film version of her Disney show The Wizards Of Waverly Place.
The actress and singer, the girlfriend of pop sensation Justin Bieber, will be an executive producer on the TV movie as well as reprising her role of Alex Russo, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Many of Selena's co-stars from the TV show about a family of wizards, which ran for four seasons until ending earlier this year, are also expected to be back, including Jake T Austin, Jennifer Stone, Maria Canals-Barrera, David DeLuise and Gregg Sulkin.
Gary Marsh, president and chief creative officer of Disney Channels Worldwide, said: "With the phenomenal ratings of the Wizards finale earlier this year, it became clear that fans of the series were not ready to say goodbye to Selena or the rest of the Wizards cast."
He said he was delighted the cast would be returning to take fans on "one last grand adventure".
The film will see the Russo family and friends travel to Italy to meet relatives. When Alex tries to prove she's more than a seemingly carefree young wizard, she accidently conjures a spell that creates good and evil versions of herself.
