Jack Black has admitted he is desperate to make a sequel to his film School Of Rock.

The comic actor played a starving rock singer who poses as a substitute school teacher in the 2003 musical comedy, and told the New York Post's Page Six that he is still keen to reprise the role in a follow-up, although he hasn't been able to get it off the ground so far

"I tried really hard to get all the pieces together," said the Bernie star.

"I wouldn't want to do it without the original writer and director, and we never all got together and saw eye-to-eye on what the script would be. It was not meant to be, unfortunately."

Jack, 43, added: "But never say never."

School of Rock also starred Joan Cusack and Mike White and was directed by Richard Linklater.
