Daryl Hannah has been arrested while protesting against an oil pipeline
Daryl Hannah has been arrested while protesting against the construction of a pipeline designed to bring crude oil from Canada to Gulf Coast refineries.
The actress's attorney, Paul Bassis, said the star was arrested on Thursday night.
Mr Bassis said Daryl and Texas landowner Eleanor Fairchild were standing in front of heavy equipment brought on to the woman's property in Winnsboro.
He said the two women were being taken to the Wood County Jail.
Daryl, who has starred in dozens of movies including Kill Bill and Splash, was also arrested in August 2011 while protesting against the Keystone XL pipeline in Washington.
Several acres of Fairchild's farm have been condemned by TransCanada. She said she opposes TransCanada's plan to transport heavy tar-sands crude from Canada to the Gulf Coast.
