Chris Brown has revealed that he has split up with model Karrueche Tran.
The Don't Judge Me singer also insisted that his ex-girlfriend Rihanna is a friend, after sparking speculation that the former couple have rekindled their controversial romance.
The 23-year-old, who pleaded guilty to assaulting Rihanna in 2009, told Hollywood Life: "I have decided to be single to focus on my career. I love Karrueche very much but I don't want to see her hurt over my friendship with Rihanna."
"I'd rather be single allowing us to both be happy in our lives," he added.
Chris and Rihanna were spotted in New York on October 1, where they were reportedly seen "hugging and kissing" at the Griffin nightclub, before reuniting the following night at hotspot 1Oak.
The pair were also seen at Jay-Z's concert at the Barclays Centre, where the rapper was pictured with his arm around Rihanna's shoulders.
Both have also tweeted cryptic messages on their Twitter feeds. On October 3, Chris wrote: "Both r free from it all!" while Rihanna posted: "Tough times don't last.... But tough people do!!!"
Chris later added a link to a video entitled The Real Chris Brown, where he talks about falling back in love with the We Found Love songstress while still dating Vietnamese model Karrueche.
"Is there such thing as loving two people? I don't know if that's possible, but for me, I feel like that. I'm just being real," he said.
Karrueche, who started dating Chris in 2011, appeared to comment on the stories, tweeting: "Wtf is going on? All I'm saying is.. You don't mess with people's genuine feelings. You just don't! Life moves on.. So let's all."
