Sarah Alexander plays Gemma in Me And Mrs Jones
Sarah Alexander has revealed she "fell in love" with her new comedy, Me And Mrs Jones.
The actress plays Gemma, a single mum with a son and twin daughters in the BBC One show, with her ex-husband Jason played by Neil Morrissey.
Sarah said: "I really identified with it, not that I'm a single mum, I'm married but I am a mum and I know how difficult that world, mumdom can be."
Gemma has a series of love interests in the show, including Misfits star Robert Sheehan who plays a young man who is "pursuing her in a rather lovely way", and Nathaniel Parker as single father Tom.
"Gemma hasn't had any interest in men for a long time and suddenly they appear in quick succession, and she's trying to deal with that, and not very successfully," Sarah explained.
The actress, who is married to funnyman Peter Serafinowicz, praised co-star Neil as "fantastic".
"He's one of the nicest men I've had the pleasure of meeting let alone working with," she added.
