Dame Judi Dench has admitted it is easy to be intimidated by James Bond star Daniel Craig's steely gaze.

In an interview with GQ, the actress talked about working with Daniel in three Bond films, including the forthcoming Skyfall.

Dame Judi has played M, head of MI6 and Bond's boss, in seven films, starting with Goldeneye, and revealed she is not afraid to "stare back" at the brooding Bond.

"There's a flintiness to Daniel, you'd be afraid of him, wouldn't you?", she said.

But Dame Judi added: "Two can play at that game! That's the fun thing about playing M, you can say whatever you like to him."

The star said Daniel has "a great sense of humour" and that he even gave her a jacket he wore in Quantum Of Solace.

She also teased about the top secret nature of the Skyfall plot.

"Of course, I can't tell you about that. Otherwise someone will take me out the back and have me shot," she said.
