Justin Bieber's arrest for drink-driving in Miami is not the teenage pop star's first brush with controversy.

Here is a run-down of his recent troubles:

:: July 2013 - Bieber is pictured spitting towards fans from a hotel balcony in Toronto.

:: May 2013 - The pop star is told to pay a bill of several thousand euros for his pet monkey's stay at a Munich animal shelter after it was seized by authorities when it was taken into Germany without the proper paperwork.

:: April 2013 - He finds himself at the centre of controversy after leaving a message in a guestbook at the Anne Frank Museum, saying he hoped the Holocaust victim would have been a fan.

He wrote: " Truly inspiring to be able to come here. Anne was a great girl. Hopefully she would have been a belieber."

:: March 2013 - Bieber is filmed lashing out at a photographer in the street outside his London hotel during the UK leg of his tour.

Days earlier he had posted a picture of himself online lying in a hospital bed after he had to take a break mid-song as he struggled to breathe. Another of the shows, at London's O2, had ended badly when it started so late many young fans had to miss most of the show to get home.
