Super cyclist Sarah Storey flew to a gold medal - just hours after her husband Barney won one.

Former swimmer Storey had the crowd roaring from the start as she won her second gold of the Games in the C4/5 500m time-trial.

This morning, husband Barney picked up gold as a pilot when he guided Neil Fachie to victory in the tandem one-kilometre time-trial.

The crowd in the velodrome raised the roof to roar Storey to victory, which comes just two days after she won the C5 three-kilometre individual pursuit.

Speaking after her latest win, she paid tribute to the "amazing" velodrome crowd.

She said: "It's just incredible. If you move everyone cheers. It feels like your own family has grown by 6,000 people. It was amazing. It's an incredible venue and I feel so lucky to have won in front of these fans."

Storey will now turn her attention to the road race and road time-trial at Brands Hatch next week. A double gold there will see her equal Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson's British female record of 11 Paralympic gold medals.

Her victory comes as the Games were shaping up to be a Super Saturday, after ParalympicsGB netted a total of 28 medals, putting them second in the table with eight gold, 11 silver and nine bronze medals.

Sprinter Richard Whitehead, 26, came from behind to power home in the straight of the T24 200m in world record time. He dedicated his win to his family, including pregnant fiancee Valerie Davies.

"It's all about guts and determination," said Whitehead, a double amputee from birth. "Today I came, I saw, I conquered. That was what the two-gun salute was all about - in honour of my hero Chris Hoy."
