Eoin Morgan has committed his future to Middlesex
England batsman Eoin Morgan has penned a new long-term contract with Middlesex.
The 26-year-old made his first-class debut for the county in 2006 and the announcement of his new deal follows the ECB's decision to offer the Dublin-born batsman a central contract for 2013. Morgan has established himself in both the England one-day international side and the Twenty20 squad and remains on the fringes of the Test team.
Middlesex chief executive Vinny Codrington labelled Morgan, who also turns out in the Indian Premier League for reigning champions Kolkata Knight Riders, as one of the best batsmen in the world. "We are absolutely thrilled that Eoin has chosen to commit his long-term future to Middlesex County Cricket Club," he said.
"At Middlesex we are hugely proud of the success we have had in recent years in producing England cricketers for all forms of the game, and there is no better example of this than Eoin Morgan.
"With the exceptional talent he possesses Eoin is quite rightly regarded as one of the most gifted batsmen in world cricket today, and we are delighted that we can continue to call upon his services whenever he is available to us here at Middlesex."
