SOULMATES Alan Vowles and Maureen Dixon met while they were working at Salisbury District Hospital in 1990.
Alan, 61, proposed to Maureen, 62, while they were on holiday in Spain and the couple retired to live in France just over four years ago. They are currently extending and refurbishing their cottage but they would love to marry in Salisbury because it is Maureen’s home town and it is where they met.
The pair also have five children and 12 grandchildren between them and Maureen said: “The logistics of our very large family -we are both from a family of four siblings - and our many dear friends attending a wedding in France would be very limiting.”
They would like a traditional, classy wedding.
