WE human beings are not meant to be nocturnal - that is, we do not see in the dark.
If we actually lived a natural life, we would work during daylight, especially in the summer when indeed our bodies feel like it, and then sleep more in the winter months. What is wrong with that?
I have always said we should work only four days a week - one day for shopping and another for leisure, leaving Sunday car-free.
The roads would be empty except for emergency vehicles. This will mean people can go for walks, or ride a bike, without the fear of being run down.
If we simply stop rushing around all over the place in some kind of panic, as if there is no tomorrow, then we could and should ensure there is a tomorrow.
