THANKS to everybody who purchased my charity Easter knitted chicks.

Special thanks go to the Amesbury Community and Visitor Centre and Porton Garden, Pet and Aquatic Centre for each making space for a basketful of chicks and collecting pot.

And also to Sue, who kindly knitted extra chick bodies for me when demand temporarily outstripped supply.

A grand total of £106 was raised and the money will be split between two charities, Action for ME and The ME Association. I am already hatching a plan for a Christmas fundraiser and knitting up samples.

PLEASE could I thank the people who stopped to help me and called an ambulance when I had a nasty fall in town outside Laura Ashley last week.

It restores one's faith to know that complete strangers are willing to interrupt their day with such kindness and patience, especially on such a desperately cold day.

BREAKTHROUGH Breast Cancer Salisbury Group would like to thank all those who supported them at the Friday Cafe in St Thomas's House on March 22.

Despite the cold and windy weather we raised £262 and very much appreciate everyone's contributions.

ERICA MCLAREN, Breakthrough Breast Cancer Salisbury Group

ON Tuesday March 5 I fell in the Cathedral Close and broke my leg.

I would like to say a big thank you to the two young mums (and daughter) who stayed with me, the paramedics and the staff of A&E at Salisbury District Hospital.
