Parking must be enforced
12:15pm Wednesday 2nd October 2013 in Salisbury Letters
SEVERAL of my colleagues and I, who work along Wilton Road, have been speculating as to why the parking restrictions at the city end of Wilton Road do not appear to be enforced despite there being clear double yellow lines?
It would appear that the main offenders are from the faith groups that meet either side of the road there.
Could this have blinded the parking enforcement team and police to the presence of their cars?
The more cynical among us (meaning me) might well be of the opinion that our authorities are too frightened of accusations of religious intolerance to enforce the law.
We seem to have a rapidly increasing population in Salisbury and the traffic congestion is only going to get worse, I think we would all benefit from enforcement of the traffic laws across the board without exemptions for politically sensitive groups.
