I RECENTLY visited the breast screening unit in Wilton for a routine appointment.
I was shocked to hear that the unit had received a complaint about affecting trade in Wilton by being there.
I arrived early for my appointment, and although I had to look for a parking space, I was able to park within easy walking distance of the unit – free of charge.
I then visited some of the local shops in Wilton and, indeed, parted with some money.
I got lots of ideas for Christmas presents and decided I would return to shops in Wilton another time.
After my appointment I visited a local coffee shop and again gave them my custom.
I would not have visited these traders if I had not been attending the breast screening unit.
As a Salisbury resident I consider myself very lucky to be offered this service on my doorstep.
The alternative would be to attend appointments in Southampton, which would be inconvenient and expensive.
I find it hard to believe that anyone could find a reason to complain about this excellent service and everything it stands for.
