JANE Scott's attempt to justify the increase in councillors' allowances is typical of her ilk.
Politicians cower behind comparisons with industry and other organisations and then have the audacity to hire an independent panel to make a recommendation.
No ‘independent panel’ is going to advise a pay freeze or cut. They are typical of the leeches that infest our world but add no value while exacting a fat fee.
