LAST week I stepped out into Victoria Road. As ever it was raining but, behold, men in yellow waterproofs and white hard hats were busy at the far end.
Those with a duty to care were caring.
What urgent mission were they on?
Unblocking drains? Filling pot holes?
Pumping out a neighbour's cellar? Sweeping up chippings from the potholes? Comforting old ladies? Even saving the drowning in the underpass? Some chance.
Victoria Road had already got a good number of natty permit holders parking signs. Now we have more.
