WHAT a miserable disappointment the new market is. All that money wasted.
Last week we read in the Journal about the market traders’ latest protest. Should not every effort be made to help them and small businesses there? It is not the glowing scene of a happy market we were led to expect after the reconstruction of the surface with months of disruption and loss of trade.

- Where is this glowing Venus we were promised? The Market Place looks as dull as ditch water.
This was clearly shown in your photograph last week with the market traders.
After 100 years of taking lorries, wagons and carts onto the market, surely they should still be entitled to do so?
Should not every assistance be given to all the small businessmen who trade there, especially after these months of disruption?
