Cats making a mess of gardens is wrong

First published in Salisbury Letters

CAN any cat owner explain to me why they think it is all right to let their cats dig up other people’s gardens?

If you keep a rabbit you normally keep it in a cage, if you keep a dog and it is not on your property you keep it on a lead. Why are cats allowed to roam, to wander wherever they want?

Every couple of months a cat owner, and there are quite a number in this area distributes a large number of posters asking it anybody has seen their lost cat.

I have tried a large number of pet scares to keep them of my property, and none work. I have tried putting garlic down, where the cats enter my property as I am told cats don’t like it, they first sniff it then lick it and then totally ignore it and jump into my garden and start digging holes.
