WHAT great disappointment must have been felt on July 5 by the many children looking forward to the teddy bear parachute jump in the Cathedral Close.
It was cancelled because the fire brigade had to pull out.
My daughter took me two years ago and it was a fantastic day.
My bear Sister Susie won a gold medal as we raised more than £100 for the charity Action for Children.
I am an 89-year-old and collect teddy bears.
The charity made the teddy bear parachute jump a special day, people gave up their time and the cathedral is a super setting.
Let’s hope someone feels some compassion and it comes back next year.
That said, I have great admiration for all the emergency services, including the fire brigade, for all their help in the past.
