A SO-CALLED annual meeting of the Salisbury Tenants’ Panel on July 28 was asked by the chairman John Todman to sign a voting slip supporting the discontinuing of the panel.

He stated that the move had been requested by Wiltshire Council, it was a jump or be pushed situation. The panel members thus voted themselves out of business in one fell swoop.

As it had not been deemed important enough to notify all of the 5,000 plus council tenants prior to the meeting, they remain ignorant of the move.

My objections as to how it was being done saw me howled down and the chairman suggesting I be forcibly removed.

We now come under the new Housing Board System, which has yet to appear at our area boards and thus become accountable.
