Last winter Ford suffered terrible flooding, resulting in the Roman Road closing for over three weeks and severe damage to houses and land.
With the large Riverdown Estate on Ford's doorstep, I worry that the River Bourne will strain further as rainfall will run off the land that once absorbed much of it.
I hope that Wiltshire Council will not grant further planning permission in the Ford area, particularly in valuable conservation areas. No one can rule out adverse weather conditions striking again so the effects of losing more green land in and around this beautiful village could be catastrophic.
