I LIVE in, and adore the beauty of, our county’s countryside. Wiltshire is consummately lovely and I would wish to live nowhere else.

However, as you drive from my village of Allington to Amesbury you see the abomination of a huge shed the size of a hundred football pitches which is the most awful sight anyone could ever construct.

It is a warehouse of some description at Solstice Park, and the planners agreed, presumably to its erection. In 50 years time, some bright spark will probably order its total destruction, as its ugliness beggar’s belief.

In the meantime, folk like us have to see this quintessentially horrible vista. Please, please stop this stupid event happening again.
