For years cycling was my main means of transportation and I first passed though Salisbury on my bike.

Many years ago, I ran a sponsored 20 miles in aid of a Mayor’s Appeal for a cyclist training area in what was then the cattle market area.

But these days sadly I regularly observe cyclists:

Cycling fast in busy pedestrian areas such as New Canal.

Cycling using a mobile phone.

Failing to use a bell to warn pedestrians in shared areas.

Cycling the wrong way down one-way streets.

Failing to stop at red lights.

Cycling without lights after dark.

Using pavements even when there is no traffic on the roads.

All this is contrary to Highway Code and much of it is illegal.

Can we please have some enforcement and more consideration to pavement/road users?
