I frequently use the pedestrian Town Path from Harnham to Elizabeth Gardens.

However, I am being driven to distraction by constant cyclists ringing their bells at me and expecting me to move aside for them.

This can happen up to 10 times over that short path and I find it both irritating and rude.

There are clear signs just before the Old Mill Pub and the bridge at Elizabeth Gardens asking that cyclists give way to pedestrians at all times. What a joke this is.

I have even challenged a cyclist pointing out the signs to them and all I get is a mouthful of abuse. People might say the cyclists are only letting you know they are there, but what if you are hard of hearing or have a disability?

I have witnessed older people who clearly suffer from both, but are expected to be shoved aside for a cyclist.

This is not a cycle path, it is an old town path across the meadows which people should be allowed to stroll across and enjoy the view without being hassled by selfish cyclists who think they have the monopoly on this path.
