I refer to the online survey for bus pass holders who are being asked to choose new start times for their bus passes – either 9am or 9.30am.
Can I, through your letters page, ask a council member to respond in public as to whether it is now a foregone conclusion that bus pass holders will not have this concession before 9am?
An honest answer will do - just ‘yes or no’. I completed the survey and was asked to comment on my ‘timing decision’ and had to tick either 9am or 9.30am. I, like many others, suspect that there will be a hue and cry from those who have 8.30am hospital appointments.
Another cry, from myself included, is from those who get asked to work a ‘staff shortage’ shift at the hospital from 7am.
I cannot see any financial saving by stopping these passengers using the buses before 9am.
