REGARDING Annie Riddle’s column (Journal, October 2), it isn't that no one knows Culver St is free, it's much more why it could be made free to begin with.
For years it has had a high crime, unsafe and unsavoury reputation, which is why it was available to be free.
So it may be free, but there are many who still regard it as unsafe.
On the day of the Food Festival I made the conscious decision to pay and park rather than park for free.
More promotion isn't needed, just some spin on its current level of security and reputation.
