I AM a teacher at Manor Fields Primary School, and in December I am taking a class of Year 6 children to visit the battlefields of Belgium and Northern France for two days.

I am writing to ask if it is possible for you to put an appeal in your paper asking for readers who have family members buried at the sites we are to visit, to get in touch if they would like us to lay a token of remembrance for them.

The Royal British Legion has very kindly agreed to provide us with some small crosses and wreaths for this purpose.

We would of course take photos and return these to the families.

If you are able to publish this appeal for us, the sites we are due to visit are as follows: Essex Farm Cemetery Tyne Cot Cemetery Menin Gate Thiepval Memorial Pozières Newfoundland Park Memorial If any readers would like to get in touch, we would ask that they write to me at the school address as shown above including the name of their family member, which cemetery/memorial they are buried/commemorated in, and any personal message that they would like to be included.

Please also include their own name, address and telephone number.

We would need to receive any requests by Monday, December 8.
