Once again a letter in the Journal moaning about the planes at Old Sarum.
If you have lived locally for many years, the writer should be used to it by now, planes flying overhead; if a “new-comer” to the area, a recce should be done of the area before moving.
We live on Salisbury Plain and have done so for many years, we have helicopters flying literally overhead, sometimes as late as midnight, known as “night flying”, heavy guns firing during the day, tanks using the tank crossing a stone’s throw away from the house and to cap it all, from March until August, six days a week, clay pigeon shooting within earshot.
This is Salisbury Plain!
Our neighbour has only been living here two years but accepts where she lives, she knew she was moving to Salisbury Plain.
We also live on a main road!
That’s life.
