WILTON Community Centre (WCC) was a scene of warmth, joy and lots of good food on Christmas Day, as more than 50 guests and helpers sat down to a traditional Christmas lunch.
An additional 20 people enjoyed the menu in their own homes, being unable to get out due to poor health or mobility.
Thanks go to many people and organisations for making this all possible, including the trustees and caretaker of WCC, Wilton Town Council, Wilton Brownies, Burnbake Trust, Reeve the Baker, Manor Farm Meats, Graham Heasman, Bill Dewson and George Twomey.
Every guest received a present from the Journal gift appeal, distributed by Santa.
These were very much appreciated. One housebound lady was so pleased with her gift, a pink and purple pashmina, that she now wears it all the time and can’t be parted from it.
We are extremely grateful to all the helpers who so willingly gave of their time to enable elderly and lonely people to enjoy a happy Christmas.

THANK you!
ON Christmas Eve 18 of us (six wind instruments, singers and collectors) sang and played Christmas carols in Cornwall & Devonshire Roads in aid of Save The Children.
Your kind and generous donations amounted to £178.90 – amazing!
Sincere thanks to all who contributed by giving money, or by taking part in the carol singing and playing – it sounded lovely!
