I AM devastated that I was unable to attend the meeting in the Guildhall about Wiltshire Council cutting the budget for the arts in Salisbury – £89,000 for the arts budget and a horrific £355,000 for the voluntary sector.
It seems everything that's good is under threat.
For someone like me, Salisbury Arts Centre has been a godsend and this includes the main library and Salisbury Playhouse and I expect it will hit the City Hall.
The powers that be are destroying Salisbury, with car parking charges taking their toll on shops and other businesses.
I love Salisbury and was a resident at Avon Terrace when very young.
Salisbury city is part of me and to see it hammered into the ground is extremely depressing.
So many residents raise funds for so many projects and they put so much money into Salisbury that it hurts.
I believe we need to find out how many cuts we can make in council offices, as now there are not so many venues surely we won't need as many councillors.
This is written without prejudice but as a Salisbury city worshipper.
