Here we go again!
The Journal dated April 2 reports that the A303 is being transformed into a "mini highway".
A key feature of this plan is apparently to "remove roundabouts and traffic lights".
Is this a back door admission that the reported £17million spent a year or so ago on the Countess Roundabout installing the vast array of traffic lights was indeed a complete waste of our tax revenues?
Many of us said at the time, to anyone who would listen, that the only thing required was two yellow boxes on the A303 allowing the A345 traffic to move when the A303 was blocked, together with a couple of enforcement cameras.
Indeed that solution may have generated £17million in revenues from the A303 users that continue to block the roundabout every weekend through the summer.
