WILTSHIRE is short of money and is cutting CCTV use.
If those who approved closing our custody suite before a new one is completed would accept personal responsibility for ongoing net cost including fewer police available, that would help.
I wonder if some of the offenders are the same people who ignored advice years ago and invested our money in dodgy Icelandic banks.
Simple things like dangerous cycling (going too fast on busy New Canal and Fisherton Street pavements, for example) should qualify for a £15,000 fine – a few of these should help raise money.
Illegal driving/parking on the pavement could bring in more income and eventually make traffic less congested.
Giving the arts centre all the money cut from its budget back means less of us would be bored and likely to be a nuisance to others.
Please reconsider all these decisions and accept responsibility.
