DRIVING back home to East Harnham recently, I was stuck yet again in another traffic jam on the ring road. It was caused this time by another accident at one of the roundabouts.

This gave me plenty time to ponder on the nightmarish scenario of possibly more than 100 extra cars pouring on to the ring road at Britford Lane, should the ridiculous plan of building next to the water meadows go ahead.

After all, there would be no other way for the extra cars to exit unless they use the rat run down Burford Avenue, where there are usually cars parked on either side of the road – now wouldn’t that be fun for all the residents.

As I sat in the traffic jam, there was an ambulance trying to manoeuvre through the gridlock.

If this plan goes ahead, how are emergency vehicles expected to get through this extra traffic, particularly as this road leads to our busy hospital?

So good Christian folk if this plan goes ahead you will not only be ruining the countryside, destroying the habitat of numerous birds and wildlife, building on an area that can potentially flood — you will also be clogging up the already busy ring road and holding up emergency vehicles going to the hospital.

That’s quite a collection for all you good Christian folk who are supporting this plan to think about, isn’t it?

Can you cope with all that weighing on your conscience?
