THE profusion of different organisations to keep the city tidy adds to the problem.

Goodness knows how they all work together, I suspect that they do not, but all have new vehicles and bespoke livery at their inception.
The smart motorised sweepers daily clean the roads and clear pavements yet rubbish under benches and in bus shelters remains untouched.
The manual cleaners should start before the vehicles pushing the detritus into the path of the vehicle or is that too simple an answer?
I have a feeling that the pay of today’s senior elected councillors amounting to about £20,000 a year for WC members ensures that no one will speak out, or are they restrained by political pressure?
