THANK goodness the councillors on the Southern Area Planning Committee rejected the application for a drive-thru McDonald’s.
I can’t imagine why anybody thought it was a good idea.
I guess the developers were hoping the planning committee would go something like this: “So, why do you think this proposal is a good idea?”
“Well, basically we want to stop people getting any exercise at all by not even getting out of their car, therefore putting on weight and further impacting on the NHS.
“We want to deter people from eating home-cooked food and actually sitting at a table to eat it. We want to increase traffic and pollution on the Southampton Road and we want to increase the amount of waste decorating the verges of Salisbury.”
Marvellous!
