SHAUN Leavey’s letter in the last issue of the Salisbury Journal echoes my own concerns about rubbish dumped on verges because of the reduced opening hours of recycling centres.
In a recent letter to Jane Scott I suggested a modest increase in council tax to enable a return to full-time operation of centres; like Mr Leavey I have not received a reply.
The county council should consider the cost implications of fly-tipping, not just the potential damage to the environment but also health hazards to livestock.
