I’M SURE you are fed up with the constant complaints about the pathetic service provided by Salisbury for waste disposal and collection. However, in order to continue to put pressure on the council, letters and emails of complaint need to keep coming.

I emailed Wiltshire Council this morning following another frustrating visit to the “tip”!

Three times in the last two weeks I have had to leave waste at the Salisbury Household Waste Centre and each time had to wait more than half an hour and witness the chaos in Stephenson Road.

One morning, arriving at 9.45am, I parked the car and walked to the centre and saw the staff enjoying breakfast in their portacabin and waiting for the 10am opening hour!

When most businesses have to work at least eight hour days and five day weeks to survive, why do Wiltshire Council think that three days a week from 10am to 4pm is acceptable?

This comes on top of the fact that household collections have already been halved.

When will common sense prevail?
