MANY congratulations to Salisbury Playhouse for the Magna Carta Plays. We found them thought-provoking and challenging. It is a long time since we have enjoyed such intelligent, insightful satire at the Playhouse.

We were saddened and surprised to read the two long and predominantly negative letters in the Journal on November 5 and we do hope that you did receive some other, more positive ones.

We are mystified as to why the writers found the plays difficult to understand or appreciate as to us they related closely both to 1215 and 2015.

Perhaps the writers have managed to avoid current national political/societal debate that is open to a wider spectrum of opinion and evidence, and which raises important and worrying questions, many of which were addressed either subtly or openly in the Magna Carta Plays.
