WHAT irony on page three of last week’s Journal (November 12)! Five very vulnerable, disabled people are to be turned out of their accommodation while at the same time Wiltshire Council is getting ready to welcome Syrian refugees.
Both situations bring out strong emotions in those who care. However, the latter are being provided health, housing and education while the former are to be uprooted from their once secure familiar home. The refugees will now hopefully have a future to enjoy, but for the Shapland Close residents and their families, what is their future?
By the way, where have the vulnerable residents of the now closed Douglas Arter Home “chosen” to live?
