LAST Thursday an old family friend, aged 80 went, as usual, to Sainsbury’s in the Maltings to do his shopping. Sadly whilst returning his trolley he fell.

The staff in Sainsbury’s were fantastic getting something to put under his head and over him as well as calling the paramedics. When the paramedics decided to take him to hospital, the security officer retrieved his shopping from the car as he knew there were perishable items in there, he also put a note in the car so that traffic controllers knew not to put a ticket on the car and also phoned their office to inform them of the situation.

When my husband visited the store, they had a list of the shopping and collected all the said items. I cannot thank the staff enough for their care and thoughtfulness it’s nice to know such people do still exist.

The gentleman involved is very vulnerable but enjoys his visits every week to Sainsbury’s and gets nothing but help and friendliness, a highlight of his week.

Many thanks Sainsbury’s – take a much-deserved bow.
