WILTSHIRE council staff advised us today on the telephone that utility contractors are no longer required to inform affected residents that they are going to be inconvenienced by major works being carried out in front of their homes.
They do not even have to ask you to ensure vehicles are moved to avoid any possible damage. How difficult is it to print off 50 letters and put them in the relevant letter boxes 48 hours before the work is due to start?
Who do we contact if the repair work to our relatively new pavements is not good enough? As council tax payers we believe these companies should have to contact us. What if we decided to go and dig a big hole in front of our neighbours drive without letting them know our intentions?
Yours, fed up
