I WAS sad to read in the Journal Postbag last week about the experience of Elizabeth Moss when she tried to find help for a confused elderly lady who turned up in her garden.
Older people make up nearly a quarter of the population of Wiltshire and according to research by The Wiltshire Community Foundation the number of over 65s and over 80s is set to double by 2035.
Care for the elderly and for a growing number of people with dementia is a huge issue for this country and especially for Wiltshire.
Elizabeth’s moving letter highlights a problem that I think needs to be talked about and prioritised more.
