MY recent council tax shows an extremely large percentage increase in my contribution to the Salisbury City Council tax (69 per cent).
I have noticed that the city council have recently been erecting some really ornate signs ie at Bishopdown sports field, St Mark's open space etc.
The signs are beautiful but I wondered how much they cost, so I thought I would ask the council. The response filled me with horror.
The cost of the signs is £37,996 and the cost to erect them is £3,727. A total cost of £41,723.
How have I survived the last 50 years in Salisbury without these signs?
So much for austerity.
