AS our Church building is one of the places cordoned off in Amesbury, I would like to, on behalf of Amesbury Baptist Church, to thank the police and security personnel who have stood guard around our building and others in Amesbury, 24 hours/7 days a week. We appreciate so much their professionalism as well as their cheerful interactions. Further to this, I have been asked by the many Police officers from all over the country, and now security teams, carrying out these duties, to express their gratitude to the numerous families and individuals who have offered acts of kindness in water, ice creams, coffee, food and much more. One local gentleman near the church, twice daily changes frozen ice blocks to keep items cold, and equally Vets4Pets are allowing their microwave to heat up food.

Upon my daily talks with the various teams they have been overwhelmed by the generosity and support as they patrol the various locations around the town. The waves and smiles as cars drive by has also added to their twelve hour shifts and often many hours more to drive home.

Our appreciation is not only to the national police, and security teams but in particular our Wiltshire Police, who serve us daily. Finally, once again, a special thank you to the people of Amesbury at this tragic time.
