Dear John , I was very sorry to hear of your Mum's passing . Your Mum and Dad were the kindest people to our family . I remember having countless meals at your house in Long Close . Your Mum helped me out of all sorts of jams I got into when I was a naughty young Lad. I met her up at the cemetery one day when she was tending your Grans grave and she told me of the time when she and her Dad came across my Mum laying in the road at Wick and they called an ambulance this was of course in the 40s when medical care wasn't as it is now and my Mum appreciated their actions all the rest of her life. I remember her helping us out once when my brothers and you and maybe the Comptons decided to go carol singing and she found us wandering by Hickman's at Wick and she gave us help and encouragement to finish the job. I also remember your Dad allowing mine to borrow anything from him even his car. They were truly very very kind people.
