ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 -SECTION 14(1)(a) THE A36 TRUNK ROAD (BRICKWORTH TO OWER) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2019
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited (a) has made an Order on the A36 trunk road from Brickworth to Ower in the Counties of Wiltshire and Hampshire to allow drainage improvements and associated maintenance works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to take place over night (8pm -6am) commencing on or after 22 July 2019 and be completed by 19 December 2019.
The effect of the Order will be to:
(a) authorise the overnight closure of the A36 from the A27 Brickworth Road Junction to Ower Roundabout;
(b) authorise the closure of the laybys adjacent to the above section of the A36.
(c) impose a temporary 50 mph speed limit on the above length of the A36;
(d) impose a temporary 40 mph speed limit on the above length of the A36;
(e) impose a temporary 30 mph speed limit on the above length of the A36;
During the closure described at (a) above traffic will be diverted via the A27 and A3090. Access to and from premises that are accessible from and only from the A36 will be maintained during the works.
The closures (which will not apply to emergency service or works vehicles), speed limits and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs throughout the works and will only apply when traffic management measures are in place.
The Order will come into force on 20 July 2019 and have a maximum duration of 18 months.
