Somerset County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, have made an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along Powell Close - from 30m west of the junction with Ryesland Way, Westwards for a total distance of 52 metres. This Order will enable Jurassic Fibre Ltd to dig and trench an overlay to fit new fibre. The Order becomes effective on 20 January 2022 and will remain in force for eighteen months. The works are expected to commence on 25th January 2022 and last until 27th January 2022 between the hours of 00:00 - 23:59 for a total of 3 days. There is no alternative route for this closure. The works promoter will contact residents and businesses directly to discuss access arrangements. a) because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road; or
b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
