Notice ID: BOU0073015

Notice effective from
29th December 2016 to 28th January 2017

A31 Picket Post Kerb Replacement, Bollard Installation & Verge Reinstatement, ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT DETERMINATION UNDER SECTION 105 A (3) OF THE HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 (as amended)

The Highways England gives notice that it has been determined that the A31 Picket Post Kerb Replacement, Bollard Installation & Verge Reinstatement proposal which is a relevant project within the meaning of section 105 A (1) of the Highways Act 1980 is not subject to environmental impact assessment in accordance with fart VA of the Highways Act 1980 implementing Directive 2011/92/EU as amended.

This is due to the fact that the scheme is expected to have an overall beneficial impact to the local landscape and to nature conservation. The land is currently bare ground which is used as unofficial parking. The scheme aims to remediate the land so that it may make up part of the surrounding Site of Special Scientific Interest. It is hoped the floral species in the surrounding area will colonise the currently bare ground. This will be protected from vehicles by a new enhanced kerb. Further information on the project and about this notice may be obtained from Highways England: Andrew Winson, Highways England, Bridge House, 1 Walnut Tree Close, Guildford, Surrey GUI 4LZ.
