A PENSION and insurance provider with offices in Salisbury has raised a huge £140,000 for a cancer centre.
Friends Life reached its fundraising target for the Lister Macmillan Cancer Centre a year earlier than expected. Employees across the country took part in a range of activities including The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, Tough Mudder and Christmas raffles to raise the money for a purpose-built centre at Lister Hospital in Stevenage as part of an overhaul of its cancer services.
Jonathan Wright, organisation development director at Friends Life, said: “We are delighted we have reached our target a year earlier than originally anticipated – our employees have demonstrated sheer dedication to fundraising for this worthy cause, and as an organisation we are extremely proud of them.”
